I do not mean to step on anyone's toes here, but if you are member of OTRR and you have uploaded a series or episodes from a series that OTRR has certified, will you please check to see if your encodes might be better than the ones we have, and let us know.
If your series/episodes are either the same or not as good as the ones in our certified series, would you consider removing yours from archive.org?
It is confusing to people new to otr to find several versions of series here. We want to ensure that newbies get the best, and if yours is better than ours, let us know.
I don't mean to sound patronizing, but we would really like members of OTRR to help make sure the best is here.

It's a shame a lot of wonderful old shows are such a low bitrate, some of them are unlistenable.
The shows have survived on disc/tape/whatever through the decades, only to fail at the last hurdle because someone used a low bitrate.
Maybe all the low bitrate files are a throwback to a few years ago when people's internet was slower and there were no free filehosts to store them on?

Hello,

I agree that the archive may need a little sprucing up, but would you possibly consider leaving some duplicates up?

The reason I'm asking is that some of the OTRR files are a lot larger than I want to download. I have a feeling that many users have limited storage space on our computers, ipods, etc. Sometimes it's more practical to download a file that's 6MB rather than a file that's 14MB.

I don't know if any help is needed, but I'd be glad to lend my ears and computer skills to help sort out duplicate episodes and organize the area here to make it a little easier for people who are searching. I used to operate shadowradio.org in the late 1990s and early 2000s so I'm aware of the issues involved with mislabeled episodes, legacy encodings, new research that uncovers or changes current knowledge, etc.
